Umrah Visa Cost from the UK – Complete 2026 Guide | Adam Travel
How Much Does an Umrah Visa Cost from the UK?
Planning your pilgrimage begins long before you land in Makkah. One of the first questions every UK pilgrim ask is: how much will the visa cost? At Adam Travel, we want to make that answer as clear and straightforward as possible.
The cost of your Umrah visa depends on your passport nationality and the type of visa you apply for. For UK passport holders, the Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa is the most convenient option and is priced at approximately SAR 535, which works out to around £114. This includes both the application fee and medical insurance, so there are no hidden charges on top.
If you prefer to obtain your visa on arrival at a Saudi airport, the base price is around SAR 480 (approximately £102), but you will also need to pay a separate medical insurance fee of SAR 180 (around £38), bringing the total to roughly £140.
For pilgrims travelling with Adam Travel on a full Umrah package, your visa cost is already included in the package price. You will not need to apply separately — we handle the entire process on your behalf.

Types of Umrah Visa Available from the UK
There are several routes to obtaining your visa. Understanding which one applies to you will help you plan your trip more smoothly.
Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa This is the most popular option for UK passport holders and citizens of 65 other eligible countries. You apply online and receive a one-year, multiple entry visa that allows you to spend up to 90 days in Saudi Arabia. Muslim visitors may perform Umrah on this visa. The application is quick and straightforward through the official Saudi portal or the Nusuk app, available on both Android and Apple devices.
Standard Umrah Visa This visa is specifically issued for the purpose of performing Umrah. To apply, you must be Muslim. Female pilgrims are required to travel with a mahram — this means a husband, father, son, son-in-law, uncle, nephew, or grandfather. This visa is typically arranged through an approved package operator like Adam Travel.
Multiple Entry Visa Priced at £133 for eligible applicants, this option is ideal for those who travel to Saudi Arabia more than once. It offers greater flexibility and is valid for repeat visits within the allowed period.
Visa on Arrival UK citizens can obtain a visa on arrival at Saudi Arabian airports and entry points. You can use the self-service kiosks or visit the passport control desk on arrival. Bear in mind the separate medical insurance cost applies in this case.
Transit or Stopover Visa Completely free of charge, this visa allows travellers passing through Saudi Arabia to enter the country briefly. It can also be used to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
Do You Need a Visa for Umrah?
Yes. All UK-based travellers must hold a valid visa before entering Saudi Arabia. There are no exceptions to this rule. Your visa must either be an Umrah-specific visa or a Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa. Both allow you to perform Umrah. A separate visa category applies for Hajj, and you cannot perform Hajj on an Umrah or tourist visa.
Umrah Visa Requirements for UK Residents
Before applying, make sure you meet the following requirements.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of travel. You must be at least 18 years old to apply independently. Travellers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or an adult sibling over 18 years old.
You will also need proof of a meningitis vaccination, administered at least ten days before your departure date and valid within the last three years. Travel insurance covering emergency medical costs is also mandatory.
For female pilgrims applying for a specific Umrah visa, travel with a mahram is required. However, on a Saudi tourist eVisa, women can travel without a mahram for general Umrah visits.
There are three main ways to apply.
Through Adam Travel (Recommended) When you book an Umrah package with us, we manage your visa application from start to finish. You simply provide the required documents and we handle the rest. This is the easiest and most reliable route, particularly for first-time pilgrims.
Online (eVisa) If you hold a UK passport or are a national of one of the 66 eligible countries, you can apply for the Saudi tourist eVisa directly through the official Saudi portal. The process is simple and takes only a few minutes.
In Person You can visit an approved local travel agency to apply for your Umrah visa in person. Alternatively, UK passport holders may obtain their visa on arrival at the Saudi border using the self-service kiosks or passport control desk.
Is the UK on the Saudi eVisa Eligible Countries List?
Yes. The United Kingdom is among the 66 countries eligible for the Saudi Arabia Tourist eVisa. Other eligible countries include the United States, Canada, Australia, most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore, among others.
If your country is not on the eligible list, you will need to apply through a visa operator such as Adam Travel or contact the nearest Saudi Arabia Embassy.
